Summer Summer Summer Time!!

Well I hope everyone is enjoying this glorious weather that we are having.  Please don’t get me wrong, I love the sun and I hate being one to moan but the heat is really taking the life out of me.  I thought I was gonna die with the heat over the weekend while I was driving in the car.  But it puts everyone in good form and long may it last.  Make sure to be putting plenty of SPF on your skin!!

I had a great weekend this weekend, I did Deirdres wedding in Thurles on Friday and Marilyns wedding in Laois on Saturday and of course I forgot my camera.  I bought a fab NIKON camera some time ago, so that I could bring with me for work cos I love sharing my pics with everyone, but I forget it more times than not 😦  But I do want to post this pic of Beatrice whose makeup I did a couple of weeks ago, picture courtesy of the lovely Ger McCarthy

Congratulations again to Beatrice and Liam x

On Sunday then I did a photoshoot here in Kilkenny and it was fab!  The shoot was organised by Moi, Deirdre Esmonde Walsh of Haircourt and the lovely and talented photographer Ross Costigan.   We had local Kilkenny models Grace, Shelly, Joanna and Mairead and businesses including Cameo Bridal Wear and Rebekah Patterson headpieces as well as cork photographer Ger Leahy.  We were a bit weary at the beginning due to the sun, but we got through it and had lots of fun.  Thanks again to our wonderful models Grace, Shelly, Joanna and Mairead who not once in the blistering heat of 29 degrees moaned and remained in top form throughout the day.

Some behind the scene pics below.  When I have the ‘proper’ photograper pics back I will post them later 🙂

My office!

Just wanted to post this pic 🙂 my typical set up for a wedding assignment.  I still work from some items that are in my case, but these are the main items.

I went to MAC Pro in London recently. H-E-A-V-E-N I always have to purchase my MAC over the phone using mail order, because we dont get our discounts here in Ireland.  But to actually be in the Pro store was fab!  The staff were all really helpful, and I literally went in with my big list and one of the girls did all my shopping for me 🙂 I had to hold back though because I could have quite easily gone mad and Elaine, Aoife and Ru who were waiting for me would have killed me :)!

I took the  pic on Saturday, at Jurys hotel in Cork where Blaithin was leaving from.  Blaithin was beautiful and was soo happy and chirpy all morning.  Here is a pic of her and her mom, her smile says it all :)!  Congrats again to Blaithin and Vladislav!

Be good to your skin!

If like me you suffer from breakouts every now and then, due to stress or tiredness or even after a couple of drinks – you know how important it is to look after your skin.  Due to early starts and long tiring days, I would often forget to give my skin a bit of TLC.    I use Dermalogica in my working kit, to use on clients as I believe it to be the best range of skincare that I have ever used.  And I get so many clients calling me up after asking me what products I used because their skin felt so great.   Recently they sent me some items and I have been using them religiously on myself.  I use their microfoliant every morning, followed by the Multi Active Toner and Active Moist Moistuirizer.

I love the smell of Dermalogica.  And the Active Moist moisturizer is the perfect base underneath your primer before adding your foundation.

Check out your local Dermalogica salon for further information or

If you are anywhere near Kilkenny, Mint Salon is a must see as they have a fantastic range of Dermalogica and they also have a face scanner,  so they can assess your skin and give you advice on products and regime.  Contact Mint – Tel:  056 7712579.  I went to Mint a couple of weeks ago for a facial and I got the Germaine de Capuccini time expert trial.  I nearly floated out of the salon, it was fantastic.  The results were visable immediately.   They call this the new ‘botox alternative’  it left my skin feeling plump and smooth for days. Ususally after facials I get a break out in skin, which isnt uncommon.  But this facial is not a deep cleanse it really just concentrates on hydrating the skin filling in lines and wrinkles.  It was fantastic, and I would definately recommend it to brides in the lead up to their big day.

Bye Bye April, Hello May!

Its raining outside and its hard to believe  we are now in to May 😦 on a nicer note, anyone that asks me when I am getting married, I can now say ‘April’ instead of ‘April nxt year’ that sounds soo far away.  So its now 11 months, 2 weeks and 6 days to be precise 🙂 Roll on!!

So it has been another busy couple of weeks, and I was delighted and honored to have been super busy doing makeup for weddings.  A big congratulations again to you all, I have posted some pics below, I didnt have my camera for the others but should hopefully have some at a later date 😦

Lisa and Keela 🙂

Yvonne and her sister Maura

Also congrats to Beatrice, Sara and Alyson.  X

I also did makeup for the Haute Couture Hair Awards this month.  Aishling from Pink Shampoo in Midleton was the stylist and the model was Diane O Sullivan.  Unfortunatley she didnt get through to the final, but it was a great fun day:) I felt very sorry for some of the models because they had some serious weight on their heads 🙂 visit the Haute Couture Facebook page for the finalists pics.!/pages/Haute-Couture-Awards/344313922180

Congrats again to you all .

Take Care
